Florida sales tax holiday for Energy Star and WaterSense products

EnergyTaxHolidayV2-300x250Florida’s first Energy Star and WaterSense products sales tax holiday starts Friday, Sept. 19 and goes through Sunday, Sept. 21.

Here’s your chance to add new energy-efficient appliances at your home at an even better value!

You can get a 6 percent sales tax savings on 16 eligible appliances and water-conserving products. The percentage could be slightly higher in counties where there are discretionary sales surtaxes.

That could mean up to $90 in savings since the exemption applies to the first $1,500 of each new Energy Star appliances costing $500 or more. You can purchase only one of each qualifying item in this category.

For items priced less than $500, there is no limit on how many items that can be purchased.

Qualifying Energy Star appliances include water heaters, washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners, pool pumps, air purifiers and dehumidifiers, ceiling fans and light bulbs.

Bathroom sink faucets and faucet accessories, shower heads, high-efficiency toilets or urinals and weather or sensor-based irrigation controllers are on the WaterSense list.
