In 2016, the 117-year-old Tampa Electric and the 121-year-old TECO Peoples Gas got a serious infusion of power when we joined Emera.
Today, we’re unveiling a new logo that is a symbol of our combined strength. The Tampa Electric and TECO Peoples Gas logos now feature the Emera wave.
We’re proud of our history and we’re retaining important elements of our logo in this new design. It’s a connection to the past we’re proud to share with you as we’ve grown with and helped power and fuel Florida for more than a century. The new logo will appear on our vehicles and elsewhere at our company over time, largely as it’s time to replace signs and equipment.
Emera is a geographically diverse energy and services company headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Emera companies and investments are working in Canada, the USA and in four Caribbean countries. Being part of the Emera family means we get to learn from other affiliates, we share people and ideas to enhance our service to customers and we cooperate extensively to meet challenges like the impacts and aftermath of severe weather.
“What we bring to the communities we serve as part of the Emera family is a stronger company with resources that can do more to meet Florida’s growing needs for safe, reliable power and natural gas,” said Gordon Gillette, president and CEO of Tampa Electric and president of Florida Operations. “That includes more opportunities, more innovation, more renewables like solar technology and more people power for times when our customers rely on us most, as we saw during the very successful Hurricane Irma restoration process.”
He added, “As someone who’s been with TECO since 1981, I’m excited about what our partnership with Emera brings to Florida – and to TECO’s more than 1.1 million customers.”
