New advertising promotes energy-saving programs and rebates

Beginning this week, we are rolling out a new advertising campaign that includes television and radio commercials, print advertising and Internet banners to promote Tampa Electric’s many energy-saving programs and rebates.

epbarneyThe new ads feature family-friendly animated characters, such as a computer named Barney that tells customers how they can use their own computer to program their thermostat and some appliances while away from home. In another commercial to be aired later this month, a talking house – that’s not feeling well – suggests calling Tampa Electric to schedule a free Home Energy Audit.

“We want more of our customers to participate in the nearly 40 energy-saving programs we offer – more than any other investor-owned utility in Florida,” said Bruce Narzissenfeld, vice president of Marketing, Customer Service, Business Development and Fuel Operations for Tampa Electric and Peoples Gas. “Although our electric rates are among the lowest in the country, we’re focused on providing our customers with solutions that add value.”
