’Twas the month before Christmas and all through your house, not an appliance was stirring…except those supplied by TECO’s reliable and affordable electricity and natural gas.
As for holiday stockings, our team members were taking care to stuff them with toys, treats and other things for children in need as part of the Salvation Army’s annual charity drive.
The Stuff-a-Stocking effort, which ended earlier this month, produced enough goodwill at TECO to make the North Pole proud: nearly 600 stockings donated by company team members. It’s part of an annual tradition at the company and one of the many things our people do to create stronger communities.
“A huge thanks to everyone at TECO who participated in the Stuff-a-Stocking drive to help create happier holidays for families in need,” said Lori O’Keefe, supervisor of Credit & Collections with TECO. “Thanks also to the Salvation Army, our outstanding partner in this effort and an organization that serves as a beacon of hope for people everywhere – something that feels extra important during the holidays.”
O’Keefe also had words of thanks for the Pepin Academies students at TECO – they sent empty stockings across the company for people to fill – and to our mailroom staff for playing the part of Santa by picking up stuffed stockings from a multitude of company locations.
“Lots of kids will have filled stockings thanks to the generosity of our team members,” O’Keefe said. “We make it priority to give back to the community, this time of year and all year ’round, because it’s the right thing to do.”
On lineman, on meter technician, on customer service professional (and many other roles at TECO): no matter what and how you celebrate, know that our team members take pride in doing more than just keeping your holidays bright.
