It’s official. Tampa Electric’s 2019 bills are going back in time—all the way to 2005. What does that mean? Vintage rates – the lowest in 13 years. Base-rate settlement approved by regulators

The Florida Public Service Commission (PSC) today unanimously approved Tampa Electric’s proposed base-rate settlement that takes effect in November. As result of the settlement, the monthly bill for the average residential customer who uses 1,000 kilowatt-hours will rise by $5.67 a month, or 5.5 percent, to $108.25 from the current $102.58, beginning Nov. 1. Lower fuel costs drive down Tampa Electric bills

For the fifth time in four years, your monthly power bill dropped. This month, Tampa Electric’s residential bills dropped by $4.32, to $102.58 a month for 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh). That puts Tampa Electric’s bills at about 14 percent below the national average – which was $119 per month in May 2012, according to the Energy Information Administration.
