Tampa Electric partners with Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay to make homes healthy and efficient

The Abundant Life Worship Center in Tampa is where representatives with Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB), a non-profit organization that repairs homes for those in need, announced a partnership on March 19 with Tampa Electric and other community partners offering to support RTTB’s Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs initiative.

The Building a Healthier Sulphur Springs initiative aims to make homes in the Sulphur Springs neighborhood safer, healthier and more energy efficient. Each home will receive – at no cost – RTTB’s Healthy Home Kit – a large box full of items including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, night lights, deadbolt locks and much more.

Our Neighborhood Weatherization program is helping fill the Healthy Home Kit with an array of energy-saving measures, including energy-efficiency light bulbs, weather stripping for windows and doors, low-flow shower heads, a coil refrigerator brush, wall thermometer and more.  In addition, our contractor, Alternative Energy Applications (AEA) will perform duct sealing and add ceiling insulation, all at no cost to qualifying homeowners.
