Tampa Electric rolls out new advertising

Be on the lookout – and be listening – for new TV and radio spots along with online ads touting all that Tampa Electric has to offer. Work to develop new advertising started late last year when Corporate Communications, Customer Experience and Contracts evaluated several advertising agencies. Once evaluations were complete, St. John & Partners (SJP) out of Jacksonville was tapped to help develop two all-new campaigns.

The first campaign, dubbed Customer Education, will start airing this week.  This campaign supports the company’s ongoing efforts to improve its JD Power scores. To accomplish this, the ads focus on four core JD Power attributes, including reliability, value/price, community support and bill payment options.

“It’s easy to develop advertising when you have a good story to tell,” said Monica Whiting, vice president of Customer Experience.  “We offer reliable service, rates that are lower than the national average, volunteer more than 30,000 hours per year and offer many convenient programs that our customers can use to pay their bills. And these are just a few of our offerings!”

The second campaign, called Energy Conservation, promotes Tampa Electric’s many energy-saving programs for both residential and business customers.  “We offer more energy-saving programs than any other investor-owned electric utility in the state,” said Mark Roche, manager, Regulatory Affairs. “We’ve been helping our customers reduce their overall energy consumption and use energy more wisely for more than 40 years and our customers look to us as energy experts.”

When complete in May, the energy conservation spots will highlight Tampa Electric’s free Energy Audit for both residential and business customers, along with the company’s innovative Energy Planner program and other energy-saving rebate programs.

Both campaigns share a common theme – Knowledge is Power – and utilize the tag line, More Power to You. The intent of this new advertising theme is to let our customers know they are empowered with tools that Tampa Electric provides to make life easier. The campaigns are designed to create awareness among all our customers of the value Tampa Electric delivers day after day.
