As America celebrates the greatness of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., TECO team members join in

The power we bring to the community comes in many forms, on the day we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and always.

In this 50th anniversary year of his death, the towering legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. lives on – and TECO team members again stepped up to do their part to remind the community just how important his immortal words are.

In Winter Haven on Saturday, Jan. 13, TECO team members and family members – including Willie Faniel, Donna Denmark, Talisa Cole, Brian Richard, Teretha Robinson, RaShay Stubbs, Jayda Govia, Kamarion Cole and Linda Grant – took part in the parade procession from Lake Silver Drive to Hilltop Church, dispensing smiles and beads to spectators in the crisp winter morning.

For TECO, as members of the communities we’re proud to serve, we’re equally proud to express our belief in the power of Dr. King’s words and what they mean for our nation. As we join others in striving to create a world that embodies the spirit of Dr. King’s vision, we know that “people power” takes its place alongside the electrical kind – generated safely, with responsibility to the environment, and with an eye toward a future that people of every cultural background can share in harmony, for generations to come.
