Durant High Cougars volleyball team Coach Brittany Wade is honored with the April Youth Sports Coach of the Month award.

Tampa Electric’s Zap Cap Systems is partnering with the Tampa Bay Lightning this season to recognize and honor youth sports coaches in our community who coach kids ages 18 and under.

Brittany Wade was announced as the fifth and final  honoree during the Apr. 2 Lightning home game against the New Jersey Devils. Wade is the coach of the Durant High School Cougars women’s varsity volleyball team, whom she led to a district championship title three years in a row. She was nominated for this award by the students she coaches.

Tampa Electric Vice President Bruce Narzissenfeld presented Wade with a custom Lightning jersey and a $250 gift certificate to use on equipment and supplies for the volleyball team she coaches. “We are honored to present Coach Wade with the Zap Cap Coach of the Month award,” said Narzissenfeld.  “Wade is a dedicated youth coach in our community, giving her time and experience to make a difference in every one of her athletes.“
