For Home Zap Cap Coach

Zap Cap Systems® honors Coach of the Month

Tampa Electric’s Zap Cap  Systems® honored its November Coach of the Month at the Dec. 3 Tampa Bay Lightning game. Zap Cap has partnered with the Lightning this season to recognize and honor youth sports coaches in our community who coach kids ages 18 and under.

Selected for his tireless devotion to high school sports – coaching student-athletes for 50 years and providing them with the skills they need to succeed in life – Steve Longfellow is an assistant coach with the Hillsborough High Terriers football team. His many accolades include being named Hillsborough County Assistant Football Coach of the Year, earning a place in the Hillsborough High School Football Hall of Fame and winning the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award for high school assistant coaches by the National Football Foundation.

Before a cheering crowd on the floor of Amalie Arena, Tampa Electric Vice President of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Chief Information Officer Karen Mincey presented a check for $1,000 to Coach Longfellow, who chose to donate it to the Boys & Girls Club of Tampa Bay.

Zap Cap Systems is proud to support the strength of youth coaches across our communities. Anyone can nominate a youth or high school coach in the Greater Tampa Bay area for consideration. For more information on how you can nominate a deserving youth coach, go to www.tampabaylightning.com/ZapCap.
