For Home Zap Cap Coach

Zap Cap Systems honors February Coach of the Month

Tampa Electric’s Zap Cap Systems® honored its February Coach of the Month at a recent Tampa Bay Lightning game. Zap Cap has partnered with the Lightning this season to recognize and honor youth sports coaches in our community who coach kids ages 18 and under.

We’re proud to congratulate Palma Ceia Little League’s Billy Clendenin as the latest recipient of this honor.

Here’s more about Coach Clendenin:

  • Grew up in Tampa and pitched a no-hitter at the age of 15 for Palma Ceia Little League
  • Now proud to be coaching his own children
  • Named a finalist for the Positive Coaching Alliance’s National Doucle-Goal Coach Award, which is given to coaches who teach kids to compete to win and learn life lessons through sports.
  • His primary focus when coaching is to ensure that every child that plays on one of his teams has a positive experience, improves as a player and learns some important life lessons along the way.

Coach Clendenin is donating his $1,000 award to the Shriners Hospital.

Zap Cap Systems is proud to support the strength of youth coaches across our communities. Anyone can nominate a youth or high school coach in the Greater Tampa Bay area for consideration. For more information on how you can nominate a deserving youth coach, go to www.tampabaylightning.com/ZapCap.
